The Story

This sword was made by Fujiwara Sadakuni during the koto period.

The swords were preserved in relatively good condition. Minekado on one side has a shallow dent of about 2 mm, and the same location on the opposite side shows a very thin 2 cm long forge flaw. The typical Mokume style grain of the koto period looks beautiful and Midare hamon pattern is very vibrant.  The 2pc copper habaki is slightly faded. Shirasaya is included for storage.
